As an intangible asset, intellectual property is more difficult to monetise than tangible assets. Laws such as licensing, copyrights, trademark registration, patents, etc. are not only the domain of experts, but are also closely related to the general public through SNS.
For example, when an artist releases a song,
The lyrics, the music, the artists, the photographs taken by the photographer and the packaging design are already copyrighted.
I believe it is a comprehensive contract, but since the moral rights of the author are exclusive to the individual, I would expect each company to have its own contract. Once a work is published, it will be shared on social media, translated, karaoke'd, reprinted and reused beyond the limits of quotation, and secondary use will occur.
Support from those around them is essential for artists to focus on their creations. This is the advantage of being part of a company. It seems to me that there are very few copyright and licence agreement templates available on the internet. (But if this becomes widespread, people who work as contract writers will be in trouble...maybe even me).
Contracts for intangible assets require a lot of customization, so I think it would be difficult to create a template.
The magazine of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) has published an article on the intellectual property management of the BTS Group. I have already read it with pleasure (link in <Reference> at the end of the article).
This is a successful example of intellectual property management that I would like to see more of. I would love to work for this company (but I don't speak Korean). BTS has set a precedent for portrait rights in South Korea and is involved in trademarks, designs, games, education, voice cloning, characters and licensing with famous companies. it's fantastic. I want to see the management plan.
Personally, I also like BTS. My fan history has changed from being an individual to being a group. When I watch them, I feel excited and healed. Everyone is too amazing. Being cool and cute is the best.
South Korea has a conscription system, so some members have already enlisted. It's a law that individuals cannot refuse...
When will we next see everyone in line?
I'll do my best and look forward to them.
