【英語】(読了)英語リスニングの鬼100則（[English] (Finished) 100 rules for English listening）

二周しました。書籍購入時はマイPC持ってなくて音声が活用できず（ウェブ担なのにデジタル疎い）、今回はしっかりリスニングもできました。アメリカ英語担当者の声が良き。私は声フェチなので、ヲタにつながると勉強が捗ることを確認した。

「～の鬼 100則」シリーズはいくつか持っていますが、購入後ひととおり読んでそれまででした。最近改めて読みなおし中。。

本の特徴

• 「会話になると聞き取れない」を理論的に解説
• アメリカ英語とイギリス英語の差異を音声で聞ける
• 発音記号を唇の写真と図解で示してある

感想

1. 音声データが豊富で分かりやすい
2. 音声学修士号を持つ著者の圧倒的情報量と丁寧さ
3. 練習問題レベルがちょうどいい

１．全228コンテンツの豊富な音声は、男性アメリカ英語と女性イギリス英語が入っています。同じ文章でも明らかに発音が違っていて助かります！どう違うのか解説もばっちり。

私はイギリス英語が好みです。どうしてもアメリカ英語の早くて略すとこ（gatta/gonnaなど）が使いこなせなくて悲しい。でも発音は身近なアメリカ英語で学んでいます。見る洋画がほぼアメリカ英語。発音で両者の有名な違いは「can（英カン／米キャン）」とかですね。

２．著者の独特な表現が、ガチ感あって良きです。唇の写真（ぷっくりセクシー←主観）に加えて図解付き「お風呂に入ったときにフ―と出る、力の抜けた感覚」といった表現、わかりやすいです。

各単元末にある「鬼コーチからのアドバイス」は、タイトルの印象と打って変わって優しいものなのでご安心を。たまに「やらないよりまし」なんて山椒的なスパイスがあって読み飽きない。

３．語彙は中高レベルで十分ついていけます。リスニング教材のスピードはゆっくり丁寧です。そもそも訳せない、といったことはありません。スクリプト＆和訳が必ずあります。かつ、練習問題の後ろには各問題のリスニングポイントが発音記号とともに解説してあります。

例文の都合上、身近でない単語があるときは直下に補足があります。この書体がへたれ字（フォント名知らんがかわいい感じ＝鬼シリーズ共通）なとこも、圧を感じなくて好き。

この「鬼」シリーズ、結構分厚いですが、「リスニングの鬼」は音声教材もあったおかげで量を感じませんでした。ページの区切りがいいので毎日コツコツやると、終わったころに達成感あります。

「can/can't」＝「クン／キャン」（P301-）「must/mustn't」＝「ムス／マス」（P304-）は一番印象に残った単元でした。身に着けたら一気にネイティブっぽくなること間違いなし。

I went round twice. When I bought the book I didn't have my own PC, so I couldn't use the audio (although I was responsible for the web in my previous job, I wasn't familiar with digital). This time I was able to listen well. I like the voice of the American English staff. I have a fetish for voices, so I confirmed that connecting with "otaku" would help me learn better.

I have several books in the "Oni 100 Rules" series, but I only read them once after I bought them. I've reading them again recently.

Features of the book

• Theoretical explanation of "I can't understand when it comes to conversation
• Listen to the audio differences between American English and British English
• The phonetic symbols are illustrated with photos and pictures of lips.

Thoughts

1. Plenty of audio and easy to understand
2. An overwhelming amount of information and thoroughness from the author, who has a Master's degree in phonetics.
3. The level of the exercises is just right.

1. 228 content rich voices are male American English and female British English. The pronunciation of the same sentence is clearly different! There's a good explanation of how they differ.

I prefer British English. It makes me sad that I can't master the quick abbreviations of American English (gatta/gonna, etc.). However, I am learning the pronunciation using familiar American English. My favourite films are usually in American English.

2. The author's unique expressions make you feel close to her. Besides a photo of her lips (plump and sexy ← subjective), there's also an illustration with expressions like ``You can imagine this sence that when you take a bath, you're losing your strength'', which is easy for me to understand.

The ``Advice from a Demon Coach'' at the end of each unit is softer than the title suggests. Sometimes there are clear words like ``It's better than not doing it'' and I never get tired of reading them.

3. The vocabulary listed is high school level. The pace of the listening material is slow and careful. Scripts and Japanese translations are always provided. In addition, the listening points for each question are explained with phonetic symbols after the questions.

If there are words you are unfamiliar with, they are explained in the example sentences. I also like the font (I don't know the name of the font, but it's cute = common to the Oni series) because it doesn't feel heavy.

This "Oni" series is quite thick. However, I didn't have the feeling that there was much to learn about ``The Demon of Listening'' because there are also audio lessons. The page breaks are nice, so if you work hard every day, you'll feel a sense of achievement when you're done.

The units that impressed me the most were 'can/can't' = 'kun/can' (P301-) and 'must/mustn't' = 'mus/mas' (P304-). You'll definitely look like a native speaker when you can speak it.
