【QJIS】地図データを探す＋ポイント配置（Find map data + point placement）

QJISで位置情報を表示するには、シカゴの地図がいるなあ。

１．地図データを入手

日本じゃないから、OpenStreetMap（OSM）サービスから地図データをダウンロードします。範囲を決めるためにデータから緯度経度のMAX,MINを計算してみる。

画面上で拡縮できるので目視で範囲が決められて便利。…って広すぎない？MIN,MAX範囲で取得しようとすると、イリノイ州シカゴだけじゃなくて、ミズーリ州のセントルイス山中まで範囲に入ってきた。外れ値の予感…。

領域が大きすぎて OpenStreetMap XML データとしてエクスポートできません。拡大するか、領域を小さくするか、以下に列挙したソースから一括データダウンロードを使用するかしてください。

断られた。さすがに変。データソースで「latitude < 41」を検索します。

日付も犯罪タイプも多種なのに、ロケーション（緯度経度）だけが一致。63件。どこで除外するか…。ちなみに場所(36.619446395, -91.686565684)は、ミズーリ州ビッグ・アップル・タウンシップという、63号線沿いの見晴らしのいい草原＆森です。

範囲絞ってもエクスポートできなかったので、広域リージョンからさがしてみる。

うーん？やっぱりうまくいかないので、既定のOSMで継続。結局、もにゃもにゃしなくても通常OSMとレイヤでできましたとさ。

２．ポイント配置

右上がシカゴ、左下が外れ値。だいぶ遠い。ここに63件ある。。

３．犯罪多すぎた件

データをQJISに落とし込んだのはよかったものの、犯罪件数が桁違いでした。10年分、ちょっと甘かった。

特定地域をブロックごとに検証するならいいかもしれない。しかし、重い。地域を絞ってもデータがあるならポイントしちゃうし、QJIS固まるし、PC重くなるし、省エネせねば。

取り出す犯罪タイプを再考します。

I need a map of Chicago to show my location in QJIS.

1. Get the map data

Download the map data from the OpenStreetMap (OSM) service, because it's not Japan. To determine the range, calculate the MAX and MIN of latitude and longitude from the original data.

• latitude: 36.619446395 ～ 42.022709624
• longitude: -91.686565684 ～ -87.524529378

It is convenient to visually determine the range as it can be zoomed in and out on the screen. However, it is too wide: when I set the MIN,MAX range, the range went not only to Chicago, Illinois, but also to the St. Louis Mountains in Missouri. I have a feeling it's an outlier...

The area is too large to export as OpenStreetMap XML data. Please enlarge, reduce the area, or use the bulk data download from the sources listed below.

Refused. Strange indeed. Search for 'latitude < 41' in the data sources.

Only location (latitude and longitude) matched, despite a wide variety of dates and crime types. 63 cases. Where to exclude... Incidentally, the location (36.619446395, -91.686565684) is in Big Apple Township, Missouri, a scenic prairie & forest along Highway 63.

I couldn't export it after narrowing down the range, so I searched for it in the wider region.

Hmmm? It still didn't work, so I continued with the default OSM. In the end, I could have done it with the normal OSM and layers without having to take this step.

２．Placing points

Chicago at top right, outlier at bottom left. Much further away. 63 cases here.

３．Too many crimes

Although I visualised the data to present it in QJIS, the number of crimes was off by an order of magnitude.

For 10 years of crime in Chicago, my projections were not good enough.

If you want to expand and check certain regions block by block, this amount of data may be fine.

However, it is heavy. Even if you narrow down the region, if there is data, it will point, QJIS will freeze, PC will be heavy.

I will reconsider the type of crime you want to take out.
